Mr. Keene Tracer of Lost Persons Old Time Radio Program Mr. Keen, Tracer of Lost Persons 30 minute detective shows
Keen, played originally by British actor Bennett Kilpack, and later by Phillip Clarke, originally focused on tracing lost persons, but as the format shifted over time, Keen’s work branched out to solving homicides. With the assistance of his sidekick, Mike Clancy (played by Jim Kelly), Keen blithely ignored statutes and laws to solve his cases. The rough work was left to the dim but loyal strongman, Kelly. The show was known for its theme song, "Someday I’ll Find You", and additionally notable for its idiosyncratic dialogue, in which each speaker mentions the full name of the person to whom he is speaking, making it especially easy for the listener to follow the flow of the conversation. The popularity of Mr. Keen is attested to by the memorable parody of the show by noted comedy team Bob and Ray, entitled "Mr. Trace, Keener Than Most Persons." |
